Super Pola
Sosua's big-format supermarket, now rebranded as Sirena Market
Super Pola is listed under Shopping in Sosua, Dominican Republic.
Super Pola is Sosua's big-format supermarket, located on Calle Antonio Javier in the centre of town. Two things are worth knowing before you go: the store is in Sosua, roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive west of Cabarete, and it has been rebranded as Sirena Market Sosua by its owner Grupo Ramos, which has phased out the Super Pola name across the country. Locals still often call it Pola.
Shoppers rate its fresh fruit and vegetable section, a seafood department with both fresh catch and frozen options, and an in-store bakery, and the store has hosted extras like a supplement shop and a mobile phone counter. Grupo Ramos renovated the building as part of the takeover, including a new roof.
For Cabarete-based expats it is one of the closest large-chain supermarkets, the kind of place for a big stock-up shop rather than a daily top-up. Grupo Ramos also operates the Sirena Go app for online grocery orders and delivery.
