Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

These terms apply when you use thedominicandirectory.com (the “Site”), run by Bizi Digital Ltd (“we”, “us”). By using the Site, leaving a review, submitting or claiming a listing, or sending an enquiry, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Dominican Directory lists local businesses in the Dominican Republic for English-speaking expats. Most listings are built from publicly available information and are marked Standard, which means they have not been claimed or verified. Listings marked Verified have passed the checks described on our About page. Business details change, so always confirm prices, hours, licences and anything important with the business directly before you rely on it.

We do not provide the services listed, and we are not party to any agreement between you and a business. A listing, rating or badge is not a recommendation or a guarantee of a business’s work.

2. Reviews

Reviews must be about your own genuine experience with the business. Every review is checked before it appears, and we may decline or remove a review that:

  • is not based on a real experience, or was written by the business, its staff or a competitor;
  • was offered in exchange for payment, a discount or anything else of value;
  • contains abuse, threats, hate speech, personal information about someone else, or private contact details;
  • makes allegations of crimes or illegal conduct;
  • is spam, advertising, or off topic.

Your name, rating and review text are shown publicly once approved. Your email address is never shown. You keep ownership of your review, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Site and in summaries of the business. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.

Ratings from Google show the score and number of reviews only, with a link to read them on Google. They are Google’s figures, not ours.

3. Adding and claiming listings

If you add a business or claim a listing, the details you give must be accurate, and you must own or be authorised to manage that business. We check every new submission before it goes live, and we check claims before handing over control. We may edit listings for accuracy, length and style, decline a submission, or remove a listing that is inaccurate, closed, duplicated or breaks these terms.

By submitting business details and photos, you confirm you have the right to share them and give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish them on the Site.

4. Paid listings

Paid tiers and what they include are described on the pricing page. A paid tier is agreed with us directly after you send an enquiry, and the price and term are confirmed in writing before you pay. Paying for a tier does not buy a Verified badge: the badge is shown only once the verification checks are passed, and it can be removed if a business no longer meets them.

5. Enquiries

When you send an enquiry asking to be connected with a business, we pass your details and message to that business so it can reply, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Any arrangement you then make is between you and the business.

6. Acceptable use

Do not copy or scrape the directory in bulk, try to break or overload the Site, access areas you are not authorised to use, or use the Site to send spam or impersonate anyone.

7. Corrections and removal requests

If something on the Site is wrong, or you think content breaks these terms or your rights, contact us or email hello@thedominicandirectory.com and we will look at it promptly.

8. Liability

The Site is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate but cannot promise that every detail is complete or current. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the Site, from relying on a listing, or from dealings with any business listed on it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic.
