Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains how Bizi Digital Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information on thedominicandirectory.com (the “Site”), The Dominican Directory.
1. Who we are
Bizi Digital Ltd, Room 409, Beverley Commercial Centre, 87-105 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Privacy contact: hello@thedominicandirectory.com. The Site is hosted in Finland, in the European Union. If you visit from the US, Canada, the Dominican Republic or elsewhere, the information described below is processed there.
2. What you give us
The Site has four forms. Each one stores what you send in our website database and emails a copy to our team.
- Enquiries and “Get Verified” requests: your name, email, phone (optional), your message, and the page you sent it from.
- Listing claims: your name, email, phone, your role at the business, and the proof of ownership you provide. We use this to check that you are entitled to manage the listing, and we email you when your claim is approved.
- Reviews: your name, email, rating, whether you would recommend the business, whether English is spoken there, and your review. Reviews are checked before they appear. Once approved, your review and your name are shown publicly on the listing. Your email is never shown.
- New listing submissions: your name, email, phone, and the business details you enter. We review every submission before it is published.
When you send an enquiry asking to be connected with a business, we pass your name, contact details and message to that business so it can reply to you. From then on, the business handles your details under its own privacy practices.
Please do not send sensitive information (health, financial or identity documents) through the forms unless we ask for it to verify a claim.
3. Business listings
Listings are compiled from publicly available business information, such as business websites, public map and directory data, and details businesses send us. Where a listing shows a Google rating, we show only the rating and review count with a link to read the reviews on Google. We do not copy Google review text. If you run a business and want your listing corrected or removed, claim it or contact us at the address above.
4. Collected automatically
Our web server records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the Site running. Listing pages embed a Google Maps map, and the Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When those load, Google receives your IP address and browser details under Google’s own privacy policy.
We use Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the Site is used: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, referring links, and actions such as sending an enquiry, claiming or adding a listing, leaving a review, or tapping a business’s call, website or directions button (we record the business name with those taps). Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. We do not send your name, email, phone or message text to Google Analytics.
5. How we share information
We share information with the service providers that run the Site (hosting, email delivery and analytics), under their contracts, and as described in section 2. We do not sell personal information. We disclose information if the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under California’s CCPA/CPRA and similar US state laws, Canada’s PIPEDA, and the Dominican Republic’s Law 172-13 on personal data), you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing”. Email hello@thedominicandirectory.com and we will verify your request and respond within the time the applicable law requires.
7. Cookies
The Site uses only the cookies WordPress needs to run, such as the login cookies used by our team when we sign in to manage it. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to measure traffic, and Google Maps and Google Fonts may set or read their own. Analytics cookies may count as “sharing” under some US state laws; blocking them opts you out, and the Site works fully without them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals because there is no common standard for them.
8. Retention and security
We keep enquiries, listing claims and new listing submissions for up to 24 months, then delete them. Published reviews stay up until you ask us to remove them or the listing is removed. Analytics data is kept on the schedule set in Google Analytics, then deleted or aggregated. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and restricted admin access, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children
The Site is for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
